Wish me luck!

Sad, sad news mum my passed away July 1st after being diagnosed with cancer only 10 weeks ago!

The reality of the situation has not hit me yet as it just amazes me that life goes on as if nothing as ever happened. The kids continue to fight, you go to work, flowers come & go, food still needs to be bought, cooked & cleared away.

I feel like the world should stop for some reason.

I cannot really grieve yet as I need to be in the UK with my siblings & just let go. Something us English are not too good at!

Of course going home entails yet another flight issue to overcome. Please US Airways be on time, clean and just get me home.

I'm sorry for your loss and completely understand your pain. Although it wasn't my Mum, but my (maternal) gran that passed away. My Mum told me she was ill with stomach cancer on the 17th of January, and by the 31st, we'd decided to up and leave and go visit. We couldn't leave until March 10th what with work commitments my husband had, but we decided we would all go as my Mum had never met my youngest and my gran hadn't met either of them.

I am so glad I made the decision when I did. And I know it's no coincidence that she died 10 days after I got there. She waited for me.

I wish you a safe and stress-free trip.

I am so sorry to hear about your mum, I feel for you, I really do.

I hope that US Airways treat you kindly, I have flown with them before and they were pretty good.

Take care of yourself.

I am SO sorry to hear about your mum Daffodilly! I do hope your trip went more smoothly than the last one!

I hope you had some quality time with your siblings. I remember when I flew home for my grandmother's funeral that was a really important part of the trip for me.

Just by chance I found your blog today. I am so very sorry for your loss. I'm an Ex-Pat Brit and have lived in the States for 32 years. 14 and 15 years ago my Mum and Dad passed away, both very suddenly, so I know what you are going through as that journey home is one of the saddest memories I have. My heartfelt sympathy.

Very late catching up here, and so sorry to hear what you've been going through, that must have been a hellish 10 weeks, and I'm sure still a very painful time.

I wish you and your family all the best.

I'm a HUGE Enid Blyton fan too.
