Guns
Now this is in response to Limeys post as it is something that I am strongly opinionated about.
Of course I grew up in England where there were very few if none guns around. I can remember the police asking people to surrender any ammunition's, guns, swords or weapons that could be classed as dangerous.
They were absolutely flooded as many of it was war paraphnalia that people did not want anymore but were not sure how to get rid of . After all you cannot just shove it in a bin bag and give it the dustbin men!
In NH the state moto is "Live free or Die" so people have a lot of freedom. For example they do not have to wear seat belts as it is their choice whether they live or die.....daft really!
As I live in the countryside it is very common for people to hunt. Children are given Bee Bee guns before they are 10 years old. Birthday parties are often air gun or paintball parties as children hit their tweens...it makes me shudder. Many a ten year old has a mounted deers head on his wall.
Every hunting season there is always without fail a few human tragedies. From a father accidentally shooting his son or friends bullets hitting a tree and hurting someone. Where is the pleasure in this so called sport I often ask myself? How would you ever get over such a tragedy?
The school killings that are becoming more and more common are a result of what? Too many violent TV shows or video games, or warped minds? Are guns too easily accessible...oh yes even our tiny village has a gun shop!
Why are guns classed as a sport? They are not for pleasure they are a weapon that is used in war.
I often hear that they may be needed in self defense however if you shoot a burglar you are still going to be dragged through the court systems and you are not in the right for killing another.
I am sure that I will be nailed down in this post by people who are "Pro Guns." I do not wish to offend them and my views maybe due to the fact that I grew up in the UK and this is a culture clash!
However I still believe that people should not own guns!

The recession is hitting...
So far we have been doing OK with this recession. Yes, we have cut back on our expenses a little yet suddenly it seems to be hammering us on the head!
Sir L finds out next week if he is going to be laid off or not. If he is lucky & he gets to keep his job he is hit with a 5% pay decrease & no 401K. If not we are in the "do do" as there is no work around here as we live in the boonies.
My Preschool has a low registration so far for the Fall so I am hoping that we will get a few more little darlings so I still have a job.
I am ready to dig up the garden and plant a huge vegetable patch, get ducks, chickens and goats and pretend we are in the "Good Life!" Remember how men always fell in love with Felicity Kendall? Not that I would be the Margo type at all...except for her love of drinking!
Maybe I should plant a vineyard........

Here is a good laugh for you!
When I first started to write this blog we had just got a cute tabby kitten. He was picture perfect with the blue twinkly eyes and white fluffy chest.
As always when a new item enters our world we give it a name. This can be said for items from cars to duvets to animals.
Of course along with the naming process there are numerous arguments as who should name the kitten. We all made suggestions that ranged from Fluffy, Tabby, Emma and on and on.
My 9 year old excitedly shouted out "I know, let's call him Seamen!"
Trying not to choke on his choice of words or reflect my utter "I've been smacked in the gob" look I asked him where he had heard that name. The conversation was as follows...
"Oh it's in that book we read."
Of course I am thinking he has found some pornography somewhere so trying not to be too emotional I enquire "which book."
"The one that we read together at night" he says.
Hmmm, not with me I'm thinking. "Are you sure?"
"Yes of course."
"Show me the book please?"
He goes to his room and brings down a Lewis & Clark book.
Thank god the Bearnaise dog they have is called Seaman!
Relief or what??
Strangely enough his grade are performing the play of Lewis & Clark....NO he is not Seaman!
By the way the kitten was called Mittens!

Jesus still exists!
For the past 2 years I have had a clicky neck.
It does not hurt, however as I turn my head from side to side I sound like Thomas the tank train rattling on his tracks...very strange!
Well the clicking recently went from a slightly annoying noise to a pain that would wake me up in the night as I turned over. This then became a huge issue as I would toss & turn waking up Sir L. Then my sleeping hours were disturbed & inadequate which lead to a grumpy mother and wife.
Sir L threatened divorce (jokingly) after a 6 month period as I would moan & groan & do nothing about it. He needed his sleep too.
A friend recommended a physical therapist so I booked an appointment......
All I can say being a non believer is that I have found Jesus!
My physical therapist diagnosed that my muscles were extremely tight & entrapped causing limited arm motion, neck and back pain. The reason or should we say cause is due to carrying kids on my hips...those darn little snuggly babies & cute toddlers have wrecked my body!
So now I have to go for therapy twice a week which is wonderful. (Thank you cute babies & toddlers.)
The therapist basically lays her hands on my muscles, I hardly feel a thing and then my arms go fizzy as the blood flows back into them.
I was very sceptical at first saying use more pressure as I expected a more vigorous and massage like approach.
Alas Daffodilly you were wrong!
The difference in my arm movements (which I did not know were heavily restricted) is amazing.
When I am lying on the couch & she puts her magic hands on me that really hardly seem to move I feel like one of the wounded who followed Jesus everywhere waiting for their turn to be cured.
Do not worry I am not becoming a bible basher but boy do I love physical therapy!
Who would have guessed Jesus would come back as a woman physical therapist!
