I'm becoming a local New Hampshirite!

What do you do when you have an abundance of pears?
Become Martha Stewart and can them!
Are you impressed folks?
I think I have been living in NH far too long as lots of people do this with all sorts of fruits & veggies.
Does anyone have any other ideas what to do with lots of ripe pears?

I do hope the children decide they like canned pears! If I put that much effort into something my kids would surely decide they hated it!

How about pear sauce (like apple sauce)? You could freeze that. Pear butter? Freeze them instead of canning? This site has some tips.

I have a recipe for a pear pie that my family loves. It works best with firm pears rather than really juicy ones. It probably works well with apples too.
